Dog Left To Die After Being Tied To a Rock In a River Finally Finds A Loving Home (Story)
This the story of a poor dog who was left for dead in a river before being saved by two dog walkers.
Bella was a 10-year-old German shepherd, and just like most other dogs, she enjoyed giving and receiving love, cuddles and kisses. She was just like any other one of our loyal and loving companions.
One day her cruel owners decided they didn’t want to take care of her anymore, and instead of taking her to a shelter, they decided to tie her to a large rock submerged in water.
The senior 10-year-old dog (at the time) Bella was cruelly left to drown
Bella could barely stay afloat and was drowning before she was luckily spotted by two friendly dog walkers, they were Jane Harper and Joanne Bellamy.
Just look at the size of the rock that was tied to Bella’s neck, no wonder the poor pup was drowning!
After Bella was rescued, the dog walkers could see she was in bad shape, so they immediately took her to the local vet for some emergency treatment.
After the vet, Bella was taken to the RSPCA who took care of her
The vet trip did highlight some more health issues with Bella. Which is a miracle she was still alive after surviving being in the freezing cold water
The RSPCA took care of Bella moving forward and they contacted the local police to launch an investigation to find out who was responsible for the cruel actions against the poor pup.
Bella was with the RSPCA for a whole 15 months, in this time she made a complete recovery and has transformed into a happy healthy dog once again!
This led to her finding a forever home with a retired couple called Maggie and Charlie
The retired couple seem like a match made in heaven for Bella.
This isn’t the first shepherd-type dog they’ve looked after and were happy to provide Bella with all the love and attention she deserves.
Maggie, one of Bella’s new owners, shared her side of the story with the press. Maggie said:
“We as a family have had three shepherd-type dogs over the last 30 years and really love them. We lost our rescue dog Tia/Luna two years ago and my daughter’s dog Flame this year. We did really miss them. Then we saw Bella’s story in the press a few weeks ago and the fact she needed a home, so my daughter, Clare Lusher, encouraged us to apply for her.
We know she will need regular vet appointments and are willing to finance those. We know she is in her older years, but we just want to offer her a loving home she so deserves after all she has been through. We are both retired so she will have our company constantly, which is what she really needs, and it will be great for us too.”
